about the meditation group

The meditation group was founded in June, 2000 to meet the needs of Manhattan residents for a regular meditation practice group and to train beginners in Zen (Chan) meditation.

All instructors are certified instructors of Chan meditation trained at The Chan Meditation Center, Elmhurst, Queens. Experienced practitioners may inquire about 2-day, 3-day, and 7-day retreats held at The Dharma Drum Retreat Center, a beautiful country location upstate in Pine Bush, New York.

An affiliate of The Chan Meditation Center and Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association, the meditation group relies on membership dues, class and activity fees, and contributions for its ongoing activities.
